A Broken Voice

'A Broken Voice' is a solo project visual novel, made entirely within a month, for the submission to the NaNoRenO 2024 Game Jam. 

Story:
This world is a harsh landscape, scarce of mercy or repentance.  Overlords with fists of greed are seated on their thrones of wealth and establishment. You are a Scavenger, and you have been tasked with the retrieval of profitable scrap from a warehouse on the outskirts of the land. It is your duty. It is your purpose. It is your only meaning in this world. However, in the midst of your exploration, you are halted in place by an unearthly sound. And upon further investigation...You find a girl. Why is she stranded out here, in the middle of such a barren wasteland? What is the source of that sound? And, most importantly... 

Why are you becoming distracted from the company's mission?

Game Description:
'A Broken Voice' is entriely self-made. The music, SFX,  art, coding, and the writing, were all created to be assets for the purposes of this visual novel. All was completed within the span of the month of March, as per the rules of the game jam. It also happens to be my first completed game jam submission! The main focus of the project was for two things: To employ self-disciplinary practices in order to achieve set goals within a scope, and secondly, to learn new skills and push myself as much as I could within a set time frame. For instance, I used a completely different art style than I would normally, and had no prior history of music production before this project. In short, I learnt a lot, so my goals have been accomplished! 

There are two endings, and the game mostly uses NVL-style narration. There are themes and implications of death, so reader-discretion is advised if you find such topics difficult.
